Blushing Mimosas & an Engagement Party

So a lot is going on in this post because a lot has gone on since last time I posted!

Yeah… I’m still celebrating Mardi Gras. I have already taken down my wreath but hadn’t put the beads up yet.

I knew I had to try the Blushing Mimosa as soon as I saw the recipe in my inbox from My Recipes.

This weekend a few of my friends and myself threw Perry a surprise engagement party on Saturday! We have been planning it since the day she got engaged! I think it was a great success! First, we started with brunch at The Waysider.

We waited outside for about 45 minutes which was no big deal. They were packed. Hence, why I didn’t take a picture of the building myself. People were everywhere! Good sign right?

Half right, if that makes since. We got in and seated. Our waitress took our drink order and brought us all waters. Then we got overlooked for 45 minutes. Yes they were busy but people that were seated after us got their drinks, biscuits and food before us. Finally after asking someone else that wasn’t working just helping out we got our drinks and biscuits. They serve all you can eat little homemade biscuits while you wait for your food.

An hour after being seated we got our food. I ordered a short stack, 1/4 order hashbrowns and turkey bacon. The turkey bacon was terrible. The flavor was just gross. The hashbrowns were good. The pancakes were amazing. I would say The Waysider is more of an atmosphere type place. If you live in Tuscaloosa or visit for football games then it’s a place you should go at least once. It is 50/50 with the service though. I have been before and we had no problems at all and the food was great. If you have plenty of time I’d say give it a try but if you are in a hurry just run to the grocery store and make your own breakfast!

After brunch/lunch I had to waste time with Perry until time to head to the party. This was not hard at all since we are expert time wasters! We strolled around and shopped.

Here are some pictures from the party!

    1. Thanks! The shirt is from NY & Co. I got it a few weeks ago. The Waysider is on Greensboro Avenue next to the Nut Shop across from Wells Fargo on 15th.

  2. Since you are loaded with stories, here's my loaded comment: One, I love your Mardi Gras wreath. Two, I will definitely try Blushing Mimosa. Can I mix it with a different alcohol? Three, I also heard the same story at The Waysider, my friend waited for almost an hour. Lastly, you have some pretty nice photos from the party. :)
