Loving: The Wet Brush. If you do not have one you need to go get one now! With my old brush it took me over 10 minutes to brush all my tangles out wet or dry. Now it takes less than a minute. It is amazing. My hair stylist used it on my hair after shampooing it and that is how I found out about it. Disclaimer: I paid for the brush with my own money and am in no way affiliated with The Wet Brush company. I do not gain anything from you purchasing this brush. I just love it so much I had to share it with you. 

Reading: Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. So far it is really good! 

Watching: The Bachelorette, Pretty Little Liars, Twisted, The Layover with Anthony Bourdain - I am getting the travel itch again.  

Anticipating: The next time I will be laying by the pool. After church this past Sunday I went to the pool in my neighborhood for the first time. I cannot wait to go back. 

Listening to: Rain, it has rained an awful lot this month.

Planning: A beach trip for my birthday! Yes, I plan things way in advance.

Wishing: For more sunshine on the weekends so I can enjoy being outside. I would rather in rain while I am in the office during the week. 

Working on: Finding some fun online spin workouts. I finally bought a spin bike after wanting one for a few years. I have been doing the same video so if anyone knows of any good ones let me know!

Thankful: My Mom. She has helped and given me so much. I would not be who I am without her.

Dad's Garden

Dad's garden this year is the best one I remember him having in my lifetime. It is even surrounded by an electric fence to keep the deer and other animals out. He has tomatoes, okra, squash, pole beans, cucumbers, watermelons and not sure what all else. My freezer is full of vegetables from his garden. I did not inherit his green thumb. I can't even keep my cactus alive...

Double Date

Trey and I went on a double date with Perry and Jacob a while back. We went to the wine tasting at Carpe Vino and then to dinner at DePalma's. Carpe Vino is one of my favorite places downtown. I love going to their weekly wine tastings or just stopping in to buy a bottle of wine or cider. They have so many choices and their staff has always been spot on when suggesting a bottle of wine I will like. 

DePalma's is a fun place to go. They have good wine and great service. However, I was very disappointed with my Shrimp Scampi pasta. I order this same dish every time I go because I like it so much. This last time it did not taste anything like what I normally get. It was way more lemony and was just not good. I don't know if they had a new cook or what but I was very disappointed. The caesar salad was delicious as always and everyone else said their dishes were good. I will probably order it again the next time I go in hopes it will be as amazing as remember. 

 

Tacogi | Tuscaloosa, AL

I was unsure about Tacogi at first. Something about Asian fusion burritos just did not sound appetizing. After so many people kept telling me how delicious it was I gave in and tried it and I am glad I did. It was very good. I ordered the teriyaki chicken no tomatoes with shrimp sauce. It had chicken, fried rice, lettuce, cheese and shrimp sauce. It tasted just like a Japanese steakhouse teriyaki dinner just all wrapped up in a burrito. 

Another Broken Egg | Tuscaloosa, AL

Several weekends ago when Trey came into town we had breakfast at Another Broken Egg. It was Trey's first time to eat here. I ordered a cappuccino and the Crabcakes Cavallo and Trey had a bloody mary and the Smoked Salmon Benny. Mine was so good but I could only eat half it was so filling. Breakfast foods are my weakness.

6.15.13

We had so much going on June 15th. I have a very large family so parties sometimes get planned on the same day. Mom and I went to my cousin, Jordan's birthday pool party and then headed to my other cousin, Meghan's baby shower. It was a fun packed day. Mom made both of the cakes.
