Peanut Butter Sushi?!?!

I went to Mobile this weekend. Saturday morning we had Mimosas and Bloody Marys. Trey made an amazing Bloody Mary. I had a mini one. Trey doesn’t skimp on the garnishes.

For dinner we went on a double date with one of Trey’s friends and his girlfriend. We went to Via Emilia’s. It was so good! I didn’t take any pictures. All of these are from the restaurant’s website.

We each got a different dish and had a bite of everyone’s.

The bread and olive oil was very good!

I ordered the Shrimp & Scallop Geonese with a lemon, butter, pesto, diced tomato, pinot grigio sauce. It was my second favorite. I gave all of the scallops away. I don’t like scallops.

Trey ordered a duck dish. I tried it but I don’t like duck. Trey really enjoyed it.

My favorite dish was his friend’s. He ordered the Chicken Marsala. It was amazing. I wish I had ordered it. I also tried the lamb but I do not like lamb.

Everyone liked their own dish. I am not really that picky of an eater. I guess I am with meat though.

For dessert we ordered the Tiramisu, Carrot Cake and Italian Crème Cake. The Carrot Cake was my favorite. Very moist and the icing was to die for. Any dessert with cream cheese icing has me won over.

If you are ever in Mobile you should try this place. They take reservations so I would suggest calling ahead to insure a table.

For lunch on Sunday before I headed back home we ate at a new sushi place called Izumi.  It was not my favorite but it wasn’t bad.

I ordered:
Fuji Roll – salmon, apple and avocado
Spicy Crab Roll

pb avocado roll

Trey ordered:
Pepper Tuna Avocado Roll – pepper tuna, avocado, wasabi mayo and caviar
Peanut Avocado Roll

The Peanut Avocado Roll tasted like crunchy peanut butter rolled in rice. It was very strange.

Today after work I bought my living room and dining room furniture. I always get nervous about making big purchases but I think I will really like everything. I can’t wait till it all gets in!

Question:
  • Have you eaten anywhere new or new to you lately? How was it?
