Goodies Box | December 2012

I received my first Goodies Box last month. This is a subscription service that delivers quite a few unique foods to try out. 

• Sun Cups | Dark Chocolate Mint Chips - I do not like chocolate and mint so I gave this away.
• Bare Fruit | Cinnamon Apple Chips - These were good, I'd eat them again.
• Rocky Mountain Popcorn | Cinnamon Sugar - I loved this popcorn. Very unique and good flavor.
• Effie's Homemade | Oat Cakes - This was my favorite thing in this month's box. They were buttery and fell apart in your mouth. Delicious!
• World Table | Chocolate Mint Cookie Thins - Once again I don't like chocolate and mint mixed. They were a big hit at the family Christmas get-together though.
• EatSmart Naturals | Veggie Chips - These were not good. They tasted like cardboard.
• Sun Cups | Sunflower Butter Milk Chocolate Cups - I like peanut butter cups better. The sunflower butter was too different for me when I expect peanut butter to be inside.  

NYE in Downtown Mobile

This year was my first time to go downtown in Mobile for New Year's. It was a lot of fun. We started the night out watching the parade and then walked to The Bar to waste some time before walking to Trey's friend's float barn. At the float barn I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. We hung out for a while and played pool. Before midnight we headed to his other friend's dad's office. His office was in the tallest building in Mobile on the 22nd floor. We had an amazing view of the Moon Pie drop and the firework show. This New Year's was one of my favorites. 

I loved all of the lit up buildings and the lights strung over the streets. So pretty!

Another Broken Egg Cafe

On December 17th, Another Broken Egg opened!! I had been anticipating the opening so we ordered lunch to go at the office. I ordered the Turkey Melt - smoked turkey, bacon, Monterey Jack, avocado and tomatoes. It was really good.

The morning after Christmas I suggested we all go have brunch. Everyone loved it! I ordered the Southwest Scramble - scrambled eggs, breakfast chorizo, onions, diced tomatoes, green chilies with Cheddar Jack, guacamole, salsa and tortillas. It was delicious. I tried their raspberry tea this time and it was really good. I am a bit obsessed with raspberry tea.

Christmas Dinners

Well I am a little behind on posting everything but so much has been going on the past few weeks. Hopefully I will eventually get caught up. 

Christmas Eve night I went to my parents house for dinner. Mom cooked deer steak, biscuits, gravy, rice and peas. Growing up we had this for dinner all the time. 

Christmas day Mom and I went to my Aunt's for dinner. It was pretty stormy out so we ate dinner and opened presents while keeping an eye on the weather. It was a great time catching up with family.

Birchbox | December 2012

I signed up for Birchbox for the second time in November. I canceled before because I needed to save money plus there was a glitch or something in their billing system and I was being charged twice every month. Every month I would call or email them and explain what was happening and they would refund the extra charge. They were always really nice about it but it became a hassle every month. Well, I decided to give them another try. I never received my November box due to Hurricane Sandy (which is completely understandable I am not complaining) which they were super nice and gave me a $10 credit to their online shop since my account was still charged for a box. The December box included the following items:

I would have never thought to give them a second chance if they did not have such great customer service. 

Goals | 2013

I never make new year's resolutions. I've never had anything against them it is just something I never do. So this year I am trying something new. Maybe making things public will help me stick to my goals. We shall see.

• finish a half marathon - running or walking, just finish
• take more pictures - Trey will love this one;)
• figure out a gym schedule that works best for me and stick with it
• eat healthier - I already eat pretty good I would just like to eat less processed foods, less sugar, drink lots more water, etc.
• read more books than I read in 2012
• buy my first house - my apartment lease is up in October! 
• travel to at least one new place I have never been
